The study therefore supports the previous findings that a significant market position and positive economic development can be achieved with a broad and\/or strong IP portfolio.<\/p><p>The President of the European Patent Office, Ant\u00f3nio Campinos, states:<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><em>\u201cThe stronger the intellectual property rights portfolio, the better the company\u2019s economic performance. Companies with intellectual property rights not only generate more sales, their employees also earn more.
